Hold My Wallet! is designed with privacy as a core principle. The extension runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics.

When you visit a shopping website, the extension reads page content (text such as prices, countdown timers, stock warnings, and promotional messages) to detect common dark patterns and marketing pressure tactics. This reading happens locally in your browser and no page content is ever sent anywhere.

The extension saves the following data locally using Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local):
